The 9th Principle towards Riches;  The Power of The Master Mind

GAINING POWER THROUGH THE MASTER MIND

A Master Mind is the coordination of knowledge and effort in a spirit of harmony between two or more people, for the attainment of a definite purpose. No individual can have great power without forming a ‘Master Mind.’

It is a fact that a group of batteries will provide more energy than a single battery. It is also a fact that the amount of energy provided by each individual battery depends upon the number and capacity of the cells it contains. The mind functions in a similar fashion. Some minds are more efficient than others. A group of minds coordinated (or connected) in a spirit of harmony will provide more thought-energy than a single mind, just as a group of electric batteries will provide more energy than a single battery. The strongest battery in a group will boost the power of the weaker ones. When a group of individual minds is coordinated and functions in harmony, the increased energy created through that alliance becomes available to every mind in the group.

A Master Mind creates economic power. I have learned that when you pull together bright people to help you, it naturally results in greater economic power for each in the group. Great fortune can be gained in no other way. You can and must begin to create your Master Mind. It might begin with just you and one other person, or it might be your whole team collaborating.

“When two or more people harmonize their minds and produce the effect known as a Master Mind, each person in the group becomes vested with the power to contact and gather knowledge through the subconscious minds of all the other members of the group.” – Hill

Hill compares a Master Mind to joining batteries together to increase the overall power. Similarly, when brains are connected, the total of all brains are available to each individual brain. People take on the nature and habits of the people with whom they associate. Hill mentions that some of the greatest business, social and political achievements in history were attained by the Masterminding approach.

Warning

Each of us have been part of groups where harmony and honesty were not sacrosanct. It is vital to the success of your plans to have harmony with your Master Mind Group. If not you will be hindered and the chance of your plans failing will be high. If you discover that one or more of your group are in disharmony, or where one person really does not want to help another, that would be a reason to change or leave that group. Be careful because not everyone that says they want to help you truly does. Therefore, pay attention to members of your group who promise action and effort and who over time consistently do not deliver on their commitments (their heart isn’t in it, or they are not really with you). Your success and the success of your plans is important to you, you must be honest and true to yourself about such matters.

Join in – Assemble your Master Mind Group

Here are 15 guidelines that will help you to set the agenda and select the right kind of people for your Master Mind group. Although this is not a questionnaire, many people find it helpful to write a note or a reminder to themselves about their initial thoughts when reading the concepts. Use your journal or tablet, make your notes.

  1. Your intention and desire will tell you what kind of people you need for your Master Mind.
  2. Your Master Mind should be no more than a dozen people, and generally the smaller the group the better.
  3. Decide what financial reward or advantages and benefits you will offer the individual members of your group, in return for their cooperation. If you have trouble talking about money, you will just have to get over it. In my Wealth Management Practice, I share and talk about the money side of our business with my team daily.
  4. Each member must agree at the outset on the contribution each will make, and on the division of benefits and profits.
  5. Do everything you can to attract the best people. Do not select people merely because you know them or because you like them.
  6. Choose people who not only share your vision but who will also share their ideas, their information, their contacts, and who will let you use their knowledge as if it were your own. Then as the venture succeeds, everyone will share in the benefits in different ways. Not everyone has or wants the same benefits, but there must be something in it for everyone.
  7. Personal ambition must be subordinated to the achievement of the purpose of the alliance, otherwise you will have wasted everyone’s time, you will ruin friendships, and your venture will fail.
  8. Arrange to meet with all or individual members of your Master Mind group at least twice a week, more often if possible.
  9. Don’t let the meetings become so regular and formalised that they negate the use of phone calls, emails, and other less formal contact.
  10. The members must know with certainty that you are reliable, trustworthy, and loyal. You must maintain perfect harmony between yourself and every member of your Master Mind group.
  11. Everyone must deal with everyone else on a completely ethical basis.
  12. Create a nonthreatening environment. Explore all ideas with equal interest and concern for the originator’s feelings.
  13. Attune yourself to every member of the group. Try to imagine how you would react in a given situation if you were in his or her shoes.
  14. Insist on confidentiality. Some people can give away an idea simply because they love to talk. You don’t need them in your group.
  15. You cannot succeed when surrounded by disloyal and unfriendly associates, no matter what the object of your definite chief aim may be. Success is built on loyalty, faith, sincerity, and cooperation.

In a spirit of harmony, I wish the best for you always.
